JUNGHYE YUN SOLO EXHIBITION AT AMIDI GALLERY in SEOUL 2021

After six years, contemporary artist JungHye Yun Solo exhibition has been held in Seoul, South Korea. Yun has used discarded mundane disposable plastics to make into art sculptures since 2019. She transforms the materials and then reproduces them into new valuable objects inside and outside.
This exhibition consists of three plastic projects; Plastic Forest(2019-2020), Plastic Boat(2020-2021), Plastic Stones(2021). She suggests the audiences understand the existence of plastics in our societies and enjoy and see her objects.

이번 전시는 윤정혜 작가의 새로운 작품을 6년만에 선보이는 개인전이다. 윤정혜 작가는
2019년 이후 일상생활에서 버려진 일회용 쓰레기를 작품재료로 활용하여 설치조각품을
만들고 있다. 버려진 플라스틱 조각을 이용해 창작한 플라스틱 작품들은 그 재료의 외면뿐
아니라 내면의 성질까지도 변화시킴으로써 가치를 재생산한다. 이번 전시에서는 작가가
이전에 작업했던 ‘플라스틱 보트’, ‘플라스틱 숲’, ‘도시의 플라스틱’ 세 가지 설치작품과
함께 ‘플라스틱 조약돌’ 이라는 새로운 설치작품도 선보인다. 플라스틱 조각 작품들을
통해서 관객들이 우리 생활에 깊이 자리한 플라스틱의 새로운 의미와 다양한 감각을
이해하고 즐거운 마음으로 감상했으면 좋겠다.
